I'm agreeing with Tot on wondering why is Gai Joe's type...

But also his opinion of Basco would be nice too :3

Joe would never do things with Gai. He's hyperactive, not mature enough, and far too tiny.

Joe at first had no opinion of Basco. The only things he hated was how he continuously treated Marvelous. As a person Joe doesn't like how dishonorable Basco is. If he could see the reasons for what he did, he'd be less inclined to hate him. Really hate is even too strong a word for it. Joe just doesn't prefer dealing with unpredictable people.

He can also tell that there's a tiny part of Basco in there that actually genuinely cares about Marvelous, but it loses out to he parts of him that are more focused on other things. If he could understand Basco, he knows he'd have no reason to hate him, but he also knows that if he did, Basco would be more inclined to hate him and act out, so he doesn't pursue trying to understand him, just ... stand him.

Joe is not the type of person who really cares to hate or dislike people if they aren't important to him. He does what he needs to in order to get by. Really the only reason he'll ever have to act out against Basco is if he does something against the people he acknowledges. So while Basco is under the impression Joe hates him and is only tolerating him, the truth is Joe is tolerating him because he has no opinion of the Basco from before the Akaki Betrayal ... The Basco that Marvelous was infatuated with.

Can Joe understand why Marvelous used to like Basco or is it more of 'what the hell was he thinking'?

Joe can see what would have attracted Marvelous to Basco. If he was to think about it in the way Marvelous would have and in all of that boy-ish trust, He can definitely see it. Basco is, sadly, a good-looking person. When he choses to, he's very caring and touchy-feely. It's the kind of thing Marvelous likes and he can't deny that. It's kinda while it annoys him more when Basco does things against him, because he can see how deeply something like that would cut him.


What does Basco think of the fact that Joe is also a traitor and not exactly much better than he himself?

He finds almost a poetic irony to it. He knows he hurts Marvelous in the future and it seemed strange that the first person he goes to would be a deserter because it would seem like Marvelous was trying to replace him directly with someone who flipped sides towards him rather than away from him. But, meeting Joe, he can see that's where the similarities end so, it stopped mattering to him that he was a Zangyack traitor and he doubts Marvelous cares anymore either.

Does Joe mind all the flirting?

Weirdly... He minded it at first because this is still Basco.

But at this point he's just accepted it at something that happens. At points he is actually flirting back, but a lot of it is unintentional.. because Joe is like like that sometimes.


Is there anything about Joe Basco actually likes?

Obviously, Basco enjoys how Joe looks. That's the main thing that allows him the brush off his presence because he's easy to look at. There's also the flirting and the thoughts of if Joe would cross any lines when it comes to his curiosity but, that's more just pipe dreams.

I think the one thing Basco actually likes about Joe's personality is that there's ease and predictability when it comes to Joe. For a pirate with serious trust issues, it's actually not that bad to talk to him and know exactly what is going to happen, where he stands and not need to think of a plan B in case something sneaks up and attacks.

He can appreciate that Basco is smart. He's strong and he works for himself and only himself. Joe is a loner type, yes, but he can't imagine wanting to live a life like Basco where you're constantly alone because people can't be around you. Joe also enjoys how Basco looks and doesn't mind the thought of seeing more if him, but that's only to satisfy that curiosity. He has no desire to give Basco any type of power over him. That will not happen.

Basco also cooks really well and he hates it so much all while enjoying it.


If Marvelous does de-age to the same point as him, what will he do? :| Will he use it to taunt Joe?

He likely won't rub it in to Joe's face at all. Marvelous de-aging to his point would just allow him to get back the times he had before Camp sort of ripped them away. It would give him a bit more closure because he's still in a sort of limbo where he does care for Marvelous more than he should and, if things are going to be how they are, he needs to properly break from that on his own terms, not how camp had done it for him by taking them from different times.

He would also ask Marvelous to chose between himself and AkaRed. He thinks despite how close he was to Marvelous during their time together that, because of how Marvelous looked up to AkaRed that it's a losing battle if he were to be forced to choose between them. Basically it's to see if he was right.

What would Joe do if Marvelous de-ages to the same point as Basco?

Be really pissed off and take his saber to a bunch of trees. Afterwards he'd be totally fine with it because at the very least, Basco needs closure... and if Basco did something to hurt Marvelous for this "closure", he'd rip into him, losing battle or not. It would be an automatic response and not so much a chosen one. The Marvelous from that time isn't his, so what can he do?

Not that this would ever happen, but if Joe did let him touch him, would he?

Uhhhhhhhyeaah. Actually it depends on the situation and how Basco could spin it to his advantage. Personal opinion doesn't really affect who he'd be willing to sleep with. Just if the end result is getting something useful out of it. He's willing and would be good with a casual fling but, if it's too much trouble or if there's too much baggage, he'd say no.
